China Waiting Children: Ellie & Carter Need Forever Families
Carter and Ellie are in need of families! We received their files this week from one of our orphanage partnerships in China.
Carter is 4 years old. He can run and jump, unbutton and zip clothing, and he likes to color with crayons and throw a ball back and forth. He has been diagnosed with epilepsy. His caretakers describe him as extroverted, fond of playing and brave!
Ellie lives in a foster home and attends preschool during the week. She is 5 years old, enjoys playing with blocks and being around other people. She has been diagnosed with secondary epilepsy, cerebral palsy, pachygyria, adduction contractures (L & R right thumbs and R index finger) hexadactyly (extra toe), low muscle tone and a condition that causes early maturing.
She can walk freely and go up and down stairs while holding a railing. She is able to imitate others’ behavior, understand requests and express her needs.
These files are designated by the CCCWA as Special Focus and a family just considering adoption or at any stage of the process is eligible to review their files.
You can read more about Carter and Ellie and also view other children who are waiting by visiting our website and clicking HERE. Most often, children with minor/repairable medical needs are generally matched directly (when their files arrive) with families already in our China program & who are requesting those particular medical needs.
Any questions can be directed to our China staff at China@awaa.org or 800-429-3369. If your family is interested in starting an adoption process, we’d love to be of assistance to you in helping you find the child God has for your family!
