China Waiting Child: “Penny”
Penny, whose Chinese name means “precious and beautiful”, is a healthy girl whose condition is easily managed by medication.
Penny is developmentally on target as she can walk, run and jump, can go up and down stairs freely, can ride a bicycle, and has good self-management skills. She can understand adult’s instructions, can express her needs with language, and communicates well. She has good mental development. She is able to count, paint, build toy blocks, work puzzles, recognize colors, etc.
She is a little introverted but likes playing games with other children. She enjoys listening to music, likes to sing and dance, and likes to talk. She likes playing games and enjoys playing with balls.
Penny was diagnosed with epilepsy and currently is on medication for her condition. She appears to be doing great and hasn’t had any issues with a seizure in several years.
We have several recent videos of her from March and her smile in each video is just precious.
Penny’s file is designated by the CCCWA as Special Focus and she is an agency file from one of our previous partner orphanages.
