China Waiting Child: Michael

Michael is a young boy who was sent to his foster family immediately upon intake into the orphanage. His Chinese name means “enjoying a widespread reputation” and it is our prayer that God will provide him with a loving Christian family where he can thrive and be used of God to live out his name in a positive and godly manner.

He has a good health and rarely gets ill. He has good gross motor skills and can walk, run and jump freely.

He likes to sing and dance. He has normal language development and can express his desires with language and can communicate normally through language with other peers. He can speak in 5-10 word sentences. He has normal mental development—he can count, can recognize 1-10, can recognize colors, identify many animals, identify shapes, and enjoys painting. He can build with toy blocks and build puzzles and like most boys, he enjoys playing with cars.

He is receiving preschool education and studying in the kindergarten of the institute from Monday to Friday. Michael is active and energetic and enjoys playing with other children. He is good to share his food and toys with other children. He likes outdoor activities and likes playing in noisy places. He has good adaptability and gets along well with his foster family. He is closest to the foster parents in the foster family.

Michael has been diagnosed with delayed growth and malnutrition, hemolytic anemia and has had a small section of his right lobe on his lung removed due to a pulmonary cyst.

He is an agency file from one of our previous orphanage partners and is designated by the CCCWA as special focus. Any family interested in learning about adopting Michael should email China@awaa.org for more information.
