China Waiting Child: “Jenny”
Jenny is a sweet little girl whose Chinese name means “beautiful, happy, and full of vitality”. She lives with her foster family and is close to her foster mom.
Jenny can walk, run and jump freely, can go up and down stairs freely while holding the rail. She enjoys watching cartoons and music programs. She likes to play and enjoys building blocks and toy balls. She has good language development and can communicate normally and can express her needs. She is able to put on her clothes by herself and remove them without assistance. She has good health and rarely gets ill.
As of her medical exam in November of 2017, it noted delayed growth, malnutrition, and abnormal liver function that should be rechecked. Upon intake into the orphanage and foster home, she was noted as having thalassemia and myocardial damage, but these were not noted on her latest medical exams. A doctor would need to further assess her medical needs upon review of her file.
Jenny is an agency file from one of America World’s orphanage partners and is designated by the CCCWA as Special Focus. If interested in learning more about Jenny, please email our staff at China@awaa.org for more information.
