China Waiting Child: “Gigi”

Gigi is a precious 5-year-old little girl with a sweet smile, round face, and two darling dimples! She is eager to please and always looking for ways to help her caretakers. She helps set up chairs for the other children of her own initiative and helps them to bring their clothes and shoes, always lining hers up without being asked.

In school, she is enthusiastic and engaged in her lessons and also intently focused on activities she especially enjoys, such as drawing. She is remarkably expressive and aware of the details and emotions around her. Her caretakers describe her as a lovely, affectionate child who is rich in emotion, eager to express herself, and full of enthusiasm!

Gigi has been diagnosed with Down syndrome and is a sweet, happy child with a tender heart. She loves to be praised by her caretakers, and if she is criticized or does something wrong, she becomes very quiet and sad. She especially loves playing outside and making shadows in the sun.
