China Waiting Child: Cheerful “Ellie”
Ellie is a precious, beautiful 8-year-old little girl who has been through a great deal medically but has persevered with a strong spirit and a bright smile. She was diagnosed as having a solitary left kidney and received surgery for a gastrointestinal condition and syndactyly of the 4th toe on her left foot. Despite this, she is able to walk and run independently and has had no impact on her motor development, though she chooses to wear loose and comfortable-fitting shoes.
Ellie joined the “Sapling Growth” Care Project in September 2016 and is currently being fostered and attending Kindergarten, where she studies reading, art, language, mathematics, PE, and cooking. She has a great appetite and eats a variety of meats, fruits, and vegetables. Ellie is described as cheerful and confident and is well-liked by the other children.
