Charlie Needs Storytellers!
Charlie has been a Waiting Child for quite awhile and needs a family. 7-1/2 year old Charlie is a smiley, cute, and smart boy who loves to play with everybody and care for the younger children in the orphanage. Charlie was born with cerebral palsy, but has done very well at the orphanage.
At 4 years and 9 months, he could sit on his own and play.
At 5 years, he could crawl, draw pictures, help clean up his toys, eat on his own, and repeat words after the caretaker.
At 5-1/2 years, he could use a caretaker to help him stand up, speak simple words, respond to simple commands, play with other children, and care for other children.
At 6 years old, he could stand up on his own while holding onto the wall, browse through books, sit at the table, walk while embracing the wall, go to the bathroom alone, keep his balance, and help feed his friends. He loves playing with everyone, whether they are friends or strangers.
He is designated by the CCCWA as a Special Focus child and is from one of our agency’s orphanage partnerships. His file is now a shared file. A family at any stage of the process is eligible to review this file. Contact our China staff to learn more about Charlie at WaitingChildren@awaa.org or 800-429-3369.
