CEO Notes
September 9, 2011

We’ve recently seen many referrals in our China Program, including both the Waiting Child and non-Waiting Child processes.  In August, we saw many families in our Ethiopia Program get referrals too; we made referrals for 17 children and rejoice with these families as they are preparing for their next steps in the process.  We also have families making progress in Brazil, Russia and with our other programs.

Our office here in McLean is looking forward to hosting our social workers from all across the country next week.  We have our Directors of Social Services from each of our affiliate offices coming in for trainings, meetings and fellowship next week as they do each Fall.  This is always a great time to learn from one another and spend time getting to know each other better.

This Fall America World Adoption is proud to join with Show Hope to sponsor the Steven Curtis Chapman “Songs and Stories” tour.  We hope many of you will be able to make it to these concerts.

Many of our families are in need of prayer for their adoption processes or things going on in their lives.  We’re praying for families in Texas who are affected by droughts and wildfires and we’re praying for families in the northeast who are affected by flooding.  We meet every morning to pray for our work, our staff, our adoptive families, and orphans in need of families.  Please let us know if we can be praying for any of your needs.  We believe what is says in 1 John 5:14-15:  “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him."
