CEO Note
The office has been busy this week! We're praying for all our families – including a couple families currently in Ukraine. We also want to welcome back three more kids from Brazil! We have families traveling and preparing to travel in Ethiopia and China. We also are rejoicing that we got more court date than expected this week before court closure in Ethiopia. On top of that, we have been able to match about eight more children this week in the China Waiting Child Program.
This week I've been preparing for my son's soccer camp which begins next week. We've been practicing soccer and talking more and more about sports than ever before. I know I blogged a few months ago about how special it is to have a son — but I want to reiterate that message again today. For any dads who read this (or moms who fwd. to dads) I want to encourage you to consider adopting a son! I have four girls who I love just as much as my son – but I still think that having a boy is a very special relationship in which we can connect and relate to each other in a unique way. For families waiting in the China process, I know that there are currently young boys available that would drastically speed up the very long adoption process. If you want more information – call our office and ask to speak with one of the family coordinators in the country you're interested in.
Yesterday morning, at our daily prayer/devotional, Anna, our Director of Programs, read to the staff from Psalm 33. She shared good news she had heard from our overseas staff that morning and we praised God for his goodness. Part of what she read was:
“We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.”
Psalm 33:20-22
