CEO Note
We’ve had a very busy week so far. On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday we had representatives from the Council on Accreditation here in our office conducting a site visit as part of our agency’s process of pursuing re-accreditation with this body. On Monday, we also had our Board in the office throughout the day. We have a great Board of Directors and they very faithfully met from 7am until into the evening! The entire Board was present, including three who traveled from out of state to be with us. Everyone on our Board is a volunteer – and their leadership and work on behalf of our agency is greatly appreciated.
To the families that have recently returned back from China – “welcome home!†and “congratulations!†from all of our staff! We are also excited for those families that are currently in Ethiopia preparing to return home with their children.
As a reminder, our agency will be closed this coming Monday, July 4, in honor of our nation’s Independence Day. We live in a great nation and I’m proud to celebrate our freedoms and independence. I have also given our staff permission to leave a few hours early on Friday, July 1st as a “thank you†for all the hard work they put in preparing for our recent accreditation site visit.
This morning during staff devotions we read Psalm 121. The beginning of this psalm reads, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.†What a great reminder that the One who helps us is the One who made Heaven and made Earth! Surely the One who can do that, can also help us with our other concerns – our work, our relationships, our long wait for a referral – whatever it is that concerns us the devotional was a reminder that the Lord is our helper.
