CEO Note- Prayer for Orphan Sunday
This Sunday, November 7th, is Orphan Sunday – a day that the Church is called to focus on orphans and how God’s people can be involved in orphan care and adoption.
I’d like to invite you to join with the America World staff as we fast and pray that God would use this Orphan Sunday to reach thousands of families across the country to be involved in caring for His children. This is a wonderful opportunity as a redeemed people, to express our love for our own adoptive Father.
Specifically, you can be praying that the Lord will continue to:
1) Protect orphans around the world and shower them with grace and mercy.
2) Move on the hearts of families to adopt and be actively involved in bringing hope to the fatherless.
3) Raise up advocates on behalf of vulnerable children.
The Psalmist often wrote about crying out to God and waiting eagerly for Him, because he knew that the Lord was, and still is, faithful to answer prayers. The Psalmist never shied away from asking great things, because he knew that we serve an even greater God.
To discover more ways that you can get involved with Orphan Sunday, you can look at Christian Alliance for Orphans’ (CAFO) Orphan Sunday website.
So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayers.
