The Christian Alliance for Orphans will hold a webinar on Wednesday, August 31st entitled, "Transracial Adoption: Becoming a Multicultural/Multiracial Family." From this blog post, Alliance president Jedd Medefind describes the webinar this way:
The webinar will highlight both rewards and challenges of expanding a family through trans-racial adoption—including social understandings of race, ethnicity, nationality and culture. We will explore both positive and difficult issues related to the life-long consequences of adoption, and offer tangible suggestions to help a church community embrace and support multi-racial families.
Knowing our agency's role in international, trans-racial adoption, we want to highlight this webinar as a resources for families who are considering adoption or have already adopted a child of a different race. We hope it is an informative and encouraging session for you. If you are unable to participate live, there is information about ordering an mp3 or CD of the webinar in the linked blog post above.
