Advocate Today: 2-Year Old, “Devon”
“Devon” is a sweet little boy waiting to be matched with a forever family. He has been on the Ethiopia Waiting Child list for well over a year as he continues to wait.
“Devon” has a diagnosis of hydrocephalus, leukoencephalopathy, cerebral palsy, psychomotor retardation, and impaired vision.
The in-country doctor noted:
“Devon had Sepsis and Pyogenic Meningitis before he was admitted to the America World Transitional home. The meningitis was complicated by obstruction of 'Cerebro Spinal Fluid' flow resulting in him developing hydrocephalus. All other sequels are complications of meningitis”
Please refer to the link “What is Hydrocephalus?” for helpful information regarding this condition, its treatment and prognosis.
America World families interested in welcoming “Devon” into their family should contact their Family Coordinator.
