Adoption: It Takes Time, Love, and Support

13 (1 of 1)

My name is Doug Dillman and my wife Michelle and I are current America World Advocates for the China Waiting Children program. We adopted our daughter Haley at age 6 in November 2009. Here is a recent picture of all of us. My advice to prospective adoptive parents is to be patient with the child after the adoption occurs and continuously provide the love and support of a family. The progress our daughter has made both socially and academically is amazing, but it has not happened quickly. It takes time, love and support.

The Dillmans are part of a passionate community of adoption Advocates who are intentional about telling the stories of the fatherless. Learn how you can also Be a Storyteller.
