2014 Heritage & Reunion Tour: Hunan, China
This summer we are offering a reunion/heritage tour designed specifically for America World Hunan families. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk among the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an or to stroll down the famous Wangfujing Street in Beijing? Would you like to ride a rickshaw during a Hutong tour and get a glimpse inside a Chinese family’s home to see how their family lives? Maybe you’ve always wanted to return to China with your child and experience more of the culture together by attending a Chinese acrobat show, seeing pandas, enjoying a dumpling dinner, watching a Tang Show, or climbing a different part of the Great Wall.
If you’ve ever thought about taking your child back to their birth country, this is a wonderful opportunity to let them experience China. For 2014, we are focusing on the Hunan province and this will be a great way for families who have adopted from Hunan to meet other AW families who have adopted from this province or re-connect with families from their adoption travel group. We hope to provide other locations for reunion/heritage tours in 2015, but those have not yet been determined at this time.
Your family’s cultural experience in China would include sightseeing in Beijing, Shaanxi, and Hunan. Sightseeing and activities will include many locations not frequently visited during an adoption trip. It will also include some cultural activities for you and your child(ren). We are hopeful that this will be an opportunity for children to learn more about their birth country and culture, and for other siblings, family members and friends to experience this alongside them.
The dates of the trip will be Wednesday, June 25 – Sunday, July 6. There is some flexibility at the end of the itinerary for families to take a few extra days to tour Hong Kong on their own if desired. The trip will be hosted by some of our long time adoption travel guides. Similar to a family’s adoption trip, we have set up a tour package which includes hotels, daily meals, domestic flights, ground transportation, English-speaking guide services, activities, and more. The cost of this package will range from $1500 – $2000 per child and $2100 – $2600 per adult. Please note that China considers any child 12 or over an adult. This cost also does not include international airfare.
Please let us know if you are interested in this exciting opportunity by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you more information along with a daily itinerary. We hope your family will be able to join us this summer!
