18 China Waiting Child Referrals Received

Just before the CCCWA's closure for China’s National holiday, we received 18 children’s files from two orphanage partners! The group included 10 boys and 8 girls and does not include the 8 upcoming referrals we announced last week, so we still expect to receive those files in the coming months.  Below is a breakdown of the ages and medical needs seen in this group.  

Ages:

  • 16-24 months (9 children)
  • 24-36 months (6 children)
  • 4+ years (3 children)

Medical Needs:

  • Repaired Anal Atresia
  • Hernia
  • Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE)
  • Congenital Heart Defect (VSD, PH)
  • Repaired esophageal Atresia 
  • Cleft Lip & Palate
  • Ear Deformity & Hearing Loss
  • Repaired Cataracts
  • Tumor
  • Developmental delays
  • Repaired Spina Bifida
  • Hand/Finger Deformity
  • Missing Hand
  • Genu Varum (Bowed legs) 
  • Malnutrition

We are excited for the many families reviewing files this week and we will continue to advocate for the children who we were unable to match. It is always our desire to match each child with his or her forever family.
