$14 K Raised for An Orphan’s Ticket Home

I visited the small coastal community of beautiful Beaufort, SC this weekend to speak and attend a fundraiser for An Orphan's Ticket Home given by one of our Ethiopia families, Tom & Sara Jackson.

It was such a blessing!  Tom & Sara contacted me a few months ago with the desire to host a fundraising reception for An Orphan's Ticket Home campaign, because even though they were in the process of adopting, they still wanted to do more, just like Coach Richt and his family who I blogged about last week.

The fundraiser was held at the Beaufort Yacht Club. They sent out about 400 invitations to everyone they knew through Tom's work and their church.  They were able to raise over $5K in corporate sponsorships even before the event was held. Then they held a silent auction of items donated by local friends and businesses, such as vacation homes, art work, spa visits, and even a donated sailboat!  Everyone had a wonderful time and we are so encouraged by the hearts of the Jackson family and the generosity of the Beaufort Community.

Families, if you'd like to host a fundraiser like this, I'd love to help you do this.  It was so fun for both the Jacksons and all their friends and clients who attended.  If you are interested in helping us raise money to help over 5000 more orphans, please let me know at amanda.lawrence@awaa.org
