PRE-ADOPTION TRAINING

Pre-adoption training

At America World, we believe that preparation and education are essential for a successful adoption journey.

Every child who joins a family through adoption carries a unique story—one that often includes both visible and hidden forms of trauma. Understanding your child’s experiences and emotional needs is critical to supporting their healing and building a strong, nurturing connection.

Our agency provides foundational training designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to parent with empathy, confidence, and care. In addition to our core training, you may also be required to complete state- or program-specific education as part of the adoption process.

Because we value comprehensive training, we offer all required courses at a flat rate of $399 per individual or $798 per couple.

This all-inclusive rate covers the core training needed for most adoption programs. The only exception is for families in the Ecuador program, who may be required to complete additional training hours outside of what our agency provides.

You will receive information about how to sign up for your required training in your home study checklist. If you’ve enrolled in one of our curriculum packages, please consult your caseworker before registering for any individual courses from our full course catalog—many of these courses are already included in your package.

See below for our pre-adoption training requirements. Contact ACT@awaa.org if you have questions.
