In Matthew, Jesus tells us that whenever two or more are gathered in His name, He is present. Prayer is powerful giving us the ability to pour out our hearts and requests before our healing, life-giving God. During the 21 Days of Prayer, in preparation for National Adoption Month and our Season of Hope campaign, we ask you to join the prayer list and invite others to join with us in praying for orphans, vulnerable children, and families around the world. Each day we will focus our prayers on one area of adoption and orphan care. Please join us in this vital, powerful event!

Prayers
OCTOBER 11: PRAY FOR ORPHANS
Please join us in praying for the millions of orphaned children in the United States and around the world who are waiting for forever families.
OCTOBER 12: PRAY FOR OUR PROGRAMS
Please pray for our India, China, and Haiti adoption programs and staff as they continue to advocate for precious children in need of loving families. Pray for all of the government offices in India, China, and Haiti that work to prepare children’s files for adoption.
OCTOBER 13: PRAY FOR ADOPTIVE FAMILIES
Please pray for all of our America World adoptive families who are currently waiting for a referral match or for travel to reopen. Pray that they would walk in faith and with steadfast patience in this difficult season of waiting.
OCTOBER 14: PRAY FOR GOD'S PROVISION
Please pray that we would continue to effectively engage donors, businesses, churches, and foundations who will both understand the need and will give to impact our mission of caring for vulnerable children worldwide.
OCTOBER 15: PRAY FOR OUR STAFF
Please pray for our staff during our Season of Hope. Pray that the Lord will give us boldness as we share not only our needs but our mission with friends and family during the months of November and December.
OCTOBER 16: PRAY FOR WAITING CHILDREN
Please pray for the health of the children who are matched with families and still waiting for their forever families to travel. Pray for their caregivers and the medical teams who care for them.
OCTOBER 17: PRAY FOR OLDER ORPHANS
Please pray that God would continue to bring forward families who are open to adopting the many older children who have been waiting years for a family.
Week 2
OCTOBER 18: PRAY FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS
Please pray for America World’s Mission Department, team members, and International partners as most travel is on hold due to COVID-19. Pray for open doors and for trips to be able to resume.
OCTOBER 19: PRAY FOR STRENGTH IN FAMILIES
Please lift up post-adoption families who are in crisis or are struggling. Pray for God to give them wisdom, resources, and respite as they work with their children.
OCTOBER 20: PRAY FOR MORE ADOPTIONS
Please pray that families will rise up and answer the call to adopt. Thank the Lord for those who have already said yes!
OCTOBER 21: PRAY FOR SPECIAL NEEDS ORPHANS
Please pray that God will specifically call and equip families to adopt children who have medical needs or additional special needs.
OCTOBER 22: PRAY FOR PROGRAMS IN ETHIOPIA
Please pray for more sponsor commitments for our Ethiopia City Kids program and our girls transitional home, Bete Hosanna.
OCTOBER 23: PRAY FOR ADOPTION GRANTS
Please pray for a special blessing on families who are applying for adoption grants or are in the process of raising additional funds for their adoptions.
OCTOBER 24: PRAY FOR HAITI
Please pray for families waiting in the Haiti program as they endure long wait times. Pray for peace and perseverance and for the partners that we support in Haiti.
Week 3
OCTOBER 25: PRAY FOR OUR DAY OF HOPE
Please pray for mighty, divine provision on our annual Day of Hope, December 1st. We trust that the Lord will provide exactly what we need. God has allowed us to do this work for 26 years, and we praise him for His faithfulness!
OCTOBER 26: PRAY FOR POST ADOPTION SUPPORT
Please pray for our post-adoption staff members as they guide families through a wide range of experiences in post-adoption care.
OCTOBER 27: PRAY FOR ADOPTION LAWS
Please pray for positive changes in US and International adoption laws. Pray for a change of heart for government officials around the world, that they would understand and see the beauty in God’s design of adoption.
OCTOBER 28: PRAY FOR NEW PROGRAMS
Please pray for God’s favor as America World seeks to open additional adoption programs.
OCTOBER 29: PRAY FOR HAGUE ACCREDITATION
Please pray for God’s favor and wisdom as our staff works together to seek America World’s Hague reaccreditation in 2021.
OCTOBER 30: PRAY FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN
Please pray for children who cannot be adopted, that America World will continue to provide resources, support, and love for these children.
OCTOBER 31: PRAY FOR HUMILITY AND DEDICATION
Above all, we ask that you pray for all of our staff to have humble hearts, servants' hands, and unfailing dedication to this sacred work.
